Gringsing Dance and Batik Gringsing Dance. The historical and philosophical values of the Batik Dance and Simo Gringsing are full of depictions of the natural wealth and local cultural wealth of the Batang Regency. Exploration of historical values and philosophical values of these two dances can be more introduced as a part of tourism promotion especially cultural tourism in Batang Regency in general.

The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, using the method: 1) Interview; of Gringsing community leaders, creators of Batik Dance and Simo Gringsing namely Yoyok Bambang Priambodo, Batang Regency Tourism Office, Batang Regency Education and Culture Office and Batik Gringsing crafters. 2) observation; done by analyzing the Simo dance object and Batik Gringsing.

Simo Gringsing dance is a new arable dance originating from the movement of popular traditions in Batang Regency. This dance is set in the legend of Ki Ageng Gringsing who has supernatural powers that can be transformed into Simo or Tiger and science to teach character in Islamic teachings. The philosophical value of the Simo Gringsing Dance is a summary of all the meanings Simo Gringsing dance movement, namely the value of enthusiasm, struggle, perseverance and the spirit of heroism to maintain the principles of truth, justice and to achieve prosperity and development, especially for Batang District. Batik Gringsing dance is a dance inspired by the existence of the Batik Gringsing motif which is one of the typical 

products of Batang Regency. The philosophical meaning of the Gringsing Batik Dance that women in Batang Regency must have manners, be gentle, and always be kind and noble but still have the confidence to be able build Batang Regency more developed.

Further development to make Simo Gringsing and Batik Gringsing Dance as cultural attractions or cultural tourism icons requires direct support from the Batang District Government as the most authorized stake holder to make related decisions.
